The official Bright Moments collection. A pixel art collection created by QianQian, which are released in batches of 1,000 and minted IRL in each city that we go to. They represent ownership in the DAO and are held by locals, artists, collectors, and people that we meet on our journey.

Each collection is carefully designed by artist Qian Qian, after a thoughtful anthropological study of the people and culture associated with each destination.

Independent Shows – in-person shows for established artists to release a new project, typically 100 piece collections. One notable example: Tyler Hobbs’ release of ‘Incomplete Control’ which took place IRL in New York City, December 2021. While there is not a set cadence for these shows, they tend to be about once a quarter.

City Activations – in connection with each CryptoCitizen city event, the Bright Moments team curates a group of some of the world’s top digital artists to each release a brand new collection that will be minted IRL at the Bright Moments city ‘activation’ event. These are highly-produced, carefully designed, large-scale events.

Monthly Artist-in-Residence program - a month-long open edition collection for rising generative or AI artists, (e.g. Luke Shannon’s ‘Orchids’), available to mint only during the month. Once the month is over, minting will conclude and the final collection size is fixed. The cost of each mint is 0.05 ETH. Read more

Bright Moments x Art Blocks projects - a new collaboration that will include a series of NFT releases on Art Blocks, coupled with Bright Moment’s iconic minting experiences. Art Blocks and Bright Moments will work together to create new ways for collectors to mint and reveal generative art in the real world. Read more

Bright Moments created the idea of ‘IRL minting’ which describes the experience of revealing an on-chain art piece for the very first time, in-person, in a unique way, that is designed by the artist and created by us. In order to mint IRL at a Bright Moments event, you typically need a Mint Pass.

Each batch of 1,000 Crypto Citizens is released in the following way:

One third is sold to the public via dutch auction ahead of the city activation (in the form of a ‘Golden Token’ - a placeholder NFT that ultimately gets converted into a CryptoCitizen).

One third is raffled to existing holders of CryptoCitizens;

One third is given away to locals in each via a community nomination process with the goal being to cultivate a community of generative art patrons that sustain a community beyond the event itself and ultimately turn into a self-operating Bright Moments SubDAO.
